Simple Homemade Beef Taco Bowl
Cooking is a skill I’ve always wanted to have, but too lazy to actually try. Now that I’m almost in college (hopefully), I’m probably going to have to cook for myself. I don’t really have time to cook during the week, so I waited for the weekend. When thinking about what I wanted to make, I wanted to do something simple for the first week. I decided to make taco bowls with ground beef, rice, corn, salsa, and avocado. I already had some of the things like rice, corn, and salsa at home, so I had to go out and buy ground beef, taco seasoning, and avocado. I have eaten that meal plenty of times before, so I wanted to make something that I was familiar with. Ground beef is a protein that is easy to make, and then sides such as rice and corn are easy to heat up. My favorite side with taco bowls is avocado. Without avocado, I don’t think I would be able to eat the whole bowl. Avocado makes bad food decent, and decent food good. Salsa gives the bowl good moisture, so the bowl is not too dry. I’ve had a taco bowl without salsa before, and it felt like my mouth was the Sahara desert. After my first week of cooking, it wasn’t as hard as I thought it was. My dad got a little bit annoyed with me because he’s the “master chef” in the family, but he’s just trying to help. Overall the first week was pretty easy, and the finished product tasted good.
